Narrative
Notes taken from the papers of the inquest into the death of Rueben, supplementary to the photocopied pages.
1. In addition to the witness depositions, there were also statements from the following people:
Thomas James Gray (Stationmaster), Herbert Russell Mills (Slaughterman) - as the son-in-law of Rueben went to identify the body, and George Frederick Jewl (First Constable) - noted in his statement that "The soles on deceased boots were nailed on.".
2. The post mortem examination noted the following: Spine - complete fracture dislocation of twelth thoracic and first lumbar vertebrae. Heart & Large Vessels - Aorta, complete transverse rupture of abdominal portion - Inferior Vena Cave - ruptured in mediastinum.
3. Included in the inquest information were three photographs, two of the type of engine and one of the site of the accident.
